New application process for Internationally Educated Nurses
The process of applying as an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) in Manitoba is changing soon. As of August 12, 2014, all IENs must first apply through the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS). For more information about this new IEN application process, please visit www.nnas.ca.
Health Services Insurance Amendment and Hospitals Amendment Act (Admitting Privileges)
Please note that The Health Services Insurance Amendment and Hospitals Amendment Act (Admitting Privileges) recently came intoforce. These amendments provide the authorization for RN(EP)s/NPs to admit and discharge hospital clients provided the appropriate processes are in place within the hospital/health authority.
The Manitoba Institue for Patient Safety (MIPS) is looking for proposals for projects that improve patient safety. The Dr. John Wade Patient Safety Initiatives Grant is open to any interested person or organization who meets the application criteria and eligibility list.
