Important Changes to the Continuing Competence Program Requirements
The Board of Directors approved a change to policy R-19: Continuing Competence in December 2014. The change removed the exemptions for completing the continuing competence requirements if the member was:
on a parental leave
on a medical leave
not currently employed in nursing
What does this mean for you? This change means that if you are on the practicing register, you must complete the continuing competence program requirements regardless if you are practicing or not. If you do not complete these requirements, you may not be eligible to renew your registration.
