New Classes of Practitioner Regulations under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The proposed New Classes of Practitioner Regulations, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, have been published for consultation in the Canada Gazette. The new regulations would authorize nurse practitioners (who are authorized under provincial/territorial regulated scope of practice) to prescribe a broad list of controlled drugs and substances.
Health Canada is conducting consultation with interested parties until June 5. We encourage you to read the complete draft regulation and provide your feedback.
