If you are concerned about the practice or conduct of a registered nurse, the first course of action might be to discuss the problem directly with the individual or her/his supervisor as difficulties often result from poor communication or misunderstandings. If you would like to discuss the issue, or if the issue cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, you can contact the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
Making a Complaint
To make a formal complaint, you must submit a Complaint Report Form. If you do not have Microsoft Word, download this version of the
Complaint Report Form, print a copy and fill it in by hand before sending it to the College. If you have Microsoft Word, download this version of the
Complaint Report form, fill it in on your computer and save a copy before printing it. Please ensure that you have signed the form before submitting it to the College.
Completed Complaint Report forms should be sent to:
Executive Director
College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
890 Pembina Hwy
Winnipeg MB R3M 2M8
A complaint should contain the name of the registered nurse(s) and provide enough detail to identify the incident(s) or issues in the complaint. If possible, please submit copies of medical records, correspondence, contracts, and any other documentation that will help support your complaint (include additional sheets if necessary). It should include your signature and contact information. The Executive Director will provide a copy of the complaint letter to the registered nurse named in the letter in order to provide him/her an opportunity to respond.
