Cancellations
The primary mandate of the College is to regulate registered nurses in the public interest and as a result, protection of the public is primary. Following a hearing by the College’s Discipline Committee, the panel may decide that a member’s conduct and/or practice exposed the public to serious risk and as a result, in accordance with s. 43(1) of the Registered Nurses Act, they may direct that the member’s registration be cancelled. A cancelled member may no longer practice registered nursing in Manitoba. In addition, all Canadian RN regulatory bodies are advised of the cancellation.
The following individuals have had their registration cancelled in accordance with s 43(1) of the Registered Nurses Act:

Suspensions

When there is a question that a member’s conduct and/or practice exposes, or is likely to expose the public to serious risk, the College’s Investigation Committee may direct that the member’s registration be suspended. A suspended member may not practice registered nursing in Manitoba.
Notice of Suspension under s 28(1) of the Registered Nurses ActThe Investigation Committee of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba directed the executive director to suspend the registration of the following individuals pending the outcome of proceedings under Part 6 of the Act:

Voluntary Surrenders
After review or investigation of a complaint about a registered nurse, the Investigation Committee may accept a voluntary surrender of a member’s registration. The College’s Investigation Committee may direct the publication of a voluntary surrender of a member’s registration which may include the member’s name and/or registration number. Publication of these decisions demonstrates the open and transparent nature of the College’s complaints, investigations and discipline processes and also serves as public notice that these individuals may not engage in the practice of registered nursing in Manitoba.
