Notice of Meeting - Interlake District Special MeetingThe Past-President of Interlake has called a special meeting for the purpose of considering a motion to dissolve the Chapter. The meeting will be held at the College at 1830 hours on Thursday, April 15th. All Interlake Chapter members are highly encouraged to attend and voice your thoughts. MBTelehealth sites will be arranged on request for Selkirk, Arborg or Ashern. A copy of the Notice of Meeting can be found here. 2010 Professional Nursing AwardsCRNM will honour the winners of the 2010 Professional Nursing Awards during Nursing Week on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Canad Inns Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg. The award winners will be announced in early spring. Stay tuned for details.2010 College ElectionNominations for President-Elect of the College, for one elected board member for each of the Parkland, Thompson, Central, Eastman and Interlake Electoral Districts, and for two members of the Nominating Committee will be accepted up to 1200 hours on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Download the nomination form here.Following the close of nominations, ballots are sent to all practicing and non-practicing members of the College in advance of the actual election which will occur at 1200 hours on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Consistent with the College’s bylaws, members of the nominating committee will be elected separately at the College’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Morden. Morden Set to Host College’s 96th AGMThe 96th Annual General Meeting of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Minnewasta Golf & Country Club in Morden. Doors will open at 0800 with a complimentary continental breakfast. Highlights of the morning include a presentation by the Minister of Health, Hon. Theresa Oswald and greetings from the Canadian Nurses Association. At 1100 the College’s e-Strategy will be presented with an opportunity to participate on-site through an Internet café. After lunch scope of practice will be discussed, followed by a legal issues presentation. The meeting will adjourn at 1500, leaving time to get a round of golf in before heading home. Stay tuned for further details.National Nursing WeekNational Nursing Week in 2010 will be celebrated May 10-16. The theme this year is Nursing – You Can’t Live Without It! Details of College events will be posted on the College website as soon as plans have been finalized. To help you celebrate, the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) will be making a number of products available in the coming weeks including posters, temporary tattoos, window decals and license plate frames. The questionnaire deals with questions regarding current practice and usage of foam dressing, material requirements for treatment of difficult to heal wounds as well as price levels of foam dressings currently available.
