Creating Work-Life Balance

Professional Practice Education Series: Extreme Makeover Workplace Edition: Creating a Quality Practice Environment, Workplace Health, Safety, and Well-being of the Nurse, and Control Over Practice

1130-1230 hrs: Lunch N Learn (MBTelehealth, in-person in the CRNM Board Room 890 Pembina Hwy, and via teleconference) - This session will focus on the last two of five guidelines in the College’s Quality Practice Environment Initiative. We will look at the accompanying indicators and strategies within these guidelines which can serve as a foundation for nurses and their employers on which to build a plan to implement change. Presented by Tammy Murdoch RN BN MN, Consultant, Nursing Practice. There is no cost to register for and participate in these sessions. Registration is on a first come, first served basis as spaces are limited for in-person, teleconference and MBTeleHealth. Please register at least one week in advance by contacting Erin Dietrich, Administrative Coordinator for Nursing Practice by email at edietrich@crnm.mb.ca or call toll free in Manitoba (800) 665-2027 ext 668 or in Winnipeg 789-0668. In a collaborative group setting, through lectures, large and small group discussions and case studies, participants will hear from various professionals who will highlight the critical knowledge, skills and strategies needed to increase their understanding of diabetes management and education. Opportunity will also be given to learn about the latest innovations in diabetes treatment from leading medical technology and pharmaceutical companies in the field of diabetes care during our interactive exhibitors luncheon. 2nd Conference on Positive Aging

The Coast Plaza Hotel and Suites, Vancouver BC - The aim of the 2nd National Conference on Positive Aging is to bring together an interdisciplinary audience of health professionals and researchers to address some of the issues and challenges facing the aging population today. The aim is to hear about the most current research findings from leading experts, learn how research can be translated into practice, and discover useable resources to promote healthier, more positive living for Canada’s older adult population. The importance of purpose and meaning in the later life as well as lessons for health and longevity will be emphasized. The conference will provide informative lectures, discussions, workshops, poster sessions and ample networking opportunities.
