Under the Registered Nurses Act, all registered nurses are required to register annually with CRNM. Registration is not valid beyond December 31st of each calendar year. Membership with CRNM will end unless renewed by the member in accordance with the Registered Nurses Act. Once an individual's membership in CRNM ends, he/she can no longer practice as a registered nurse or a graduate nurse in Manitoba. Once a membership lapses, the nurse will have to make an application for reinstatement of registration.
Registration renewal packages are mailed out in mid-September of each year. To allow sufficient time for data entry and the processing of more than 12,000 registration renewal applications before the end of the year, an administrative deadline of November 15, 2009 has been set for the return of your renewal application form and payment of fees.
Online Registration Renewal
We've made improvements to our secure online registration renewal system to make it easier than ever before. All you have to do is click on the registration renewal link on the College's homepage and follow the prompts to access your registration renewal application. Your information will then automatically appear in the renewal form. You simply have to update any changed information, answer the new questions and supply the payment information (if you are a member of the PAC program your payment information will not be required). Before you begin make sure you have your work schedule or any other material that will assist you in estimating your practice hours for 2009. You need to estimate the hours you will work up to December 31, 2009. This quick and easy service makes renewing more convenient than ever.
