Council Highlights – December 6, 2019

1. Council endorsed the proposed entry-level nurse practitioner regulatory framework as the model for regulation of nurse practitioners across Canada, and supported the development of an implementation plan in coordination with CCRNR.
2. Council extended the approval of the Red River College nurse prescriber/RN(AP) program for three years to January 2023, based on the recommendation of the education program committee.
3. The 2020 College operational plan and budget were presented to Council.
4. An agreement in principle was reached to move towards an appointed Council pending the results of a consultation process to be held throughout 2020.
