Top 7 things you need to know
- Updates to the practice directions Assignment and Delegation to Unregulated Care Providers; Rural, Remote and Underserved Populations: Access to Prescribed Medications; and Registration Requirements were approved by Council.
- Several nurse prescriber courses or equivalent certifications were approved for nurse prescribers/RN(AP) education:
- A new RN Prescribing course offered by Athabasca University was approved through March 2027.
- Certifications for the three patient populations for RN(Authorized Prescribers) were approved as part of the nurse prescriber education pathway/program, with implementation pending following the results of our current consultations.
- The approval for the RRC Polytechnic Nurse Prescribing program was extended until June 2023.
- Council received and approved the audited financial statements for the 2021 fiscal year.
- Council reviewed and approved annual monitoring reports for its policies:
- Updates to policies GP-2, GP-4.4, CR-3, and CR-7 were approved.
- The agenda for the 2022 Annual General Meeting was approved.
- Lindsay Mulholland, Public Representative was elected as the incoming Chair-elect.
