Board Nominations Are Open

Our Board of Directors has four positions open for three-year terms beginning Aug. 1, 2017. Serving on the Board of Directors is a wonderful and rewarding opportunity to be part of registered nurse regulation in Manitoba. 

Candidates must be registered on the practicing or extended practice register with the College and should have an understanding of the regulatory mandate of public protection. 

The Nominating Committee welcomes all candidates to apply and encourages those:

  • from rural and northern communities
  • who work in direct care, community care and long-term care
  • of Indigenous heritage
  • who are internationally-educated
  • who are in early to mid-career

About the Board

The Board is the governing body of the College. Its mandate is to protect the public by ensuring that registered nurses provide safe, competent and ethical care. The work of the Board includes:

  • strategizing on the future direction of the College, including strategic priorities, vision, and values
  • anticipating and planning for trends in society, health care, and nursing practice
  • understanding and reacting to changes in the health professions’ regulatory framework
