What is Next Generation NCLEX?
The entry-to-practice exam continues to evolve
Just like nursing practice, regulation is constantly evolving. We are always looking for more innovative, efficient ways to promote excellence in self-regulation for Manitoba RNs.
In 2015 NCLEX-RN became the entry-to-practice exam for RNs across Canada. It was a big change and took a lot of collaboration with RNs, educators and practice leaders. You can find more information about results on the CCRNR website.
NCLEX-RN continues to evolve and right now, NCSBN is working on an exciting research project looking at new ways for NCLEX-RN questions to assess nursing clinical judgment.
That means that right now, some writers may see a special research section after they have completed the exam. The start of this optional section is clearly noted after the regular exam ends and is not scored, meaning it will not count as part of their scores.
Everything is in the very early stages of research but you can learn more and sign up for updates through NCSBN.
