Introducing Alinity – The College’s new registrant management system is now online

On October 2, 2023, the College implemented a new registrant management system called Alinity, which is actively being used by a wide range of Canadian health care regulators.

This new registrant management system will provide registrants access to comprehensive information pertaining to their CRNM profile and give the College the ability to leverage Alinity to create a seamless registrant experience as a health care practitioner connected to the College.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we work through the implementation of this new system. Our overall response times will continue to improve as we navigate this period of transition.

Your CRNM Profile

It is essential that you keep your CRNM Profile updated. This includes your personal information and your employer information. As per the RHPA, it is mandatory that you inform the College about any changes to your employment status within 30 days so ensure your CRNM profile reflects your current employer. Regarding your personal information, if you need to submit a name change you can read details on how to do that here.

Tip: When choosing an email to access your CRNM Profile with, use an email that you know will not change. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the “Forgot Password?” link on the Alinity login screen to reset it.

Questions

If you have any questions about the transition to Alinity or about re-establishing your CRNM Profile login credentials on the new system, please see the FAQs below and/or connect with us at info@crnm.mb.ca.

FAQs

What is Alinity?

Alinity Regulatory Authority Management System (“Alinity”) is a best in class, secure, comprehensive cloud-based software solution that was created specifically for health care regulators. Alinity is owned by Softworks Group Inc., a privately held Canadian corporation that was established in 1990.

Currently, Alinity is being used by over 45 Canadian health care regulators.

Why did the College change to Alinity?

The College is committed to investing in information technology to build operational efficiencies that support us in achieving our mandate: to serve and protect the public interest. This registrant management system allows the College to leverage better technology to deliver on a more efficient registrant experience.

What happened with my CRNM Profile on the old system?

iMIS was the College’s registrant management system. Alinity has now replaced iMIS. Your CRNM Profile has been transferred to Alinity, where all interactions with your CRNM Profile will now take place.

As a registrant, do I need to set up new login details to access Alinity?

All registrants will need to set up a new password to access their CRNM Profile on Alinity. The College will email registrants directions on how to do so to your email address that is linked to your CRNM profile. You can also access the CRNM Profile on Alinity login page and use the Forgot Password link to recover your password.

Registrants are reminded that they do not need to create a new account in Alinity. If you are having difficulty logging in, please contact us/interact with us on Live Chat.

Do applicants who already have an application in process need to resubmit information on Alinity?

Applicants who had an application in process prior to the transition to Alinity do not need to create a new application and/or resubmit information that has already been received. An email was sent to all applicants in process who may be affected by this change. If you have questions regarding your application, please contact registration@crnm.mb.ca, and if you are having difficulties logging in, please contact info@crnm.mb.ca.

How do I use Alinity? What resources are available?

The College uploaded tutorials/user guides to the Resource Library (which are also listed below the FAQs) to ensure you can re-establish your login credentials and use Alinity for registration rewewal, as well as other key tasks.

Is my information secure on Alinity?

Yes, all of your information is safe and secure in Alinity.  Alinity is encrypted via SSL – secure sockets layer – and is behind a VPN connection so it is inaccessible from any outside influences. The servers for Alinity and file shares are all separated from each other, and configuration files are encrypted.

Your password will also be encrypted. So, you are the only one who will have access to your password. Alinity uses Two-Factor Authentication. This default feature detects a new login, and once detected, you will be prompted to enter a code that will be emailed to you, to access your CRNM profile.

The College takes protecting your information seriously. We are governed under the RHPA and abide by our responsibilities and duties clearly outlined in this legislation around Confidentiality and Collecting and Sharing Information.

Was my information secured as it was transferred into Alinity from iMIS?

Yes, your information was secured as it was transferred into Alinity. When the transfer of information was completed, the import of all data was done via secure connection.

We also use authentication to prevent unauthorized access to the database copy and all data is encrypted while it is being transferred.

Did changing to Alinity affect Nurse Check?

The new version of Nurse Check continues to allow for timely and effectively verification of whether a person providing services as a registered nurse, registered nurse (nurse practitioner), graduate nurse or graduate nurse practitioner in Manitoba is registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and whether there are any conditions or restrictions on that nurse’s practice. It also provides important information about a registrant’s registration history, disciplinary history and employer contact information.

Why can’t I see financial transactions prior to September 1, 2023 on my CRNM Profile?

Please note that invoices/transactions dated August 31, 2023 and earlier will temporarily not be visible for applicants or registrants while we reconcile historical financial information. Once this process is completed, we will post an announcement on CRNM Profile.
