2018 Fee Increase
On April 5, 2017 our Executive Director Katherine Stansfield and President Marie Edwards hosted a webinar to share information and answer your questions about the proposed fee increase.
Consultation is underway for a proposed $50 increase for RN and RN(NP) registration fees and $16.67 increase for graduate nurses. We welcome feedback until May 1, 2017 and the motion will be brought forward for a vote at our annual general meeting on May 19, 2017.
You will only be voting on the 2018 fee increase at this year’s AGM. However, there may be a staged approach brought to the Board and RNs for consideration in the future.
Bylaw Consultation Feedback
Feedback on the proposed bylaw revision must be received by noon on Monday, May 1, 2017. Please share your comments with Leanne Matthes: email@example.com
Why do we need a fee increase?
There hasn’t been a fee increase in six years. In that time, inflation has increased our costs. We’ve also enhanced our programs and services in order to meet our legislated mandate. This fee increase will help to stabilize our future financial model.
What will your registration fee be if this increase is approved?
- RN: $382.47 + GST
- RN(NP): $382.47 + GST
- Non-practising member: $95.26 + GST
- Graduate nurse – for each four month period: $127.49 + GST
What is the College's future financial model?
Stage one of our future financial model, which is the proposed fee increase for 2018, focuses on returning the College's finances to a break-even point. Any future increases will focus on building savings and rebuilding our contingency fund. There likely will be small, periodic increases in the coming years, however, we are doing everything we can to ensure the College remains fiscally responsible.
