Advisory: Scams targeting internationally educated nurse (IEN) applicants
The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (College) is issuing an advisory to internationally educated nurse (IEN) applicants to take caution regarding third parties claiming to offer assistance in submitting applications for registration on their behalf.
These offers from third party individuals, recruitment agencies or consultants are a scam targeting IEN applicants, charging high fees to submit applications for registration on the applicant’s behalf.
The College does not endorse any third party individual, recruitment agency, or consultancy offering application assistance, and they should not be used by applicants.
Important facts
- Your applications with NNAS and the College are legally binding documents. You must complete and submit these documents yourself.
- An application submitted on your behalf cannot meet the legal requirements for registration, is considered dishonest and could affect your eligibility for registration in Manitoba.
Avoiding scams and managing risk
- Do not share your Alinity/CRNM applicant login information and password with anyone.
- Never give access to your email account or share your email passwords.
- Do not give permission to someone to sign a document or declaration on your behalf.
- Take caution when sharing any personal information or copies of official identification.
