Nurse Check allows you to see if there are conditions or restrictions on an RN’s practice. It also shows their certificate of practice expiry date.
Anyone can verify the status of a:
- registered nurse RN
- nurse practitioner RN(NP)
- graduate nurse GN
- graduate nurse practitioner RN(GNP)
Online public registers are considered best practice in regulation because they:
- minimize the risk of illegal practitioners fraudulently obtaining employment
- are a more accessible way to check a professional’s registration status.
Requests are processed in real-time based on information contained in our database. A short processing delay may occur between the time an individual applies for registration until approval is granted and the information is entered into the register. If you believe there are any discrepancies between Nurse Check results and your records, please contact us immediately.
