Overview

On May 31, 2018 we came under The Regulated Health Professions Act and our board is now called a council.

Council sets the vision and strategic direction for the College and governs in the interest of the public. This means they:

  • set the direction of the College including developing strategic priorities, a vision and values
  • anticipate and plan for trends in society, health care, and registered nursing practice
  • understand and lead the change in health regulation

Our council is made up of six RNs and five public representatives in the following positions:

  • Chair
  • Chair-elect
  • Registered nurses
  • Public representatives (two of whom are appointed by the Government of Manitoba)

RN Members

Noah Gatzke

RN(NP), Chair*

Noah Gatzke is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner member of the College’s Council. Noah brings experience in acute care and nursing education from an urban perspective.
Noah is a member of the Appointments, Governance and Appeal Panel Roster committees.

Rachel Ingels Bergman

RN (NP)

Rachel Ingels Bergman is a Registered Nurse member of the College’s council. Rachel brings experience in both acute and primary care from an urban perspective.
Rachel is a member of the Finance and Appeal Panel Roster committees.

Shakerah Jones Hall

RN

Shakerah Jones Hall is a Registered Nurse member of the College’s council. Shakerah brings experience in acute care, emergency departments, long-term care and education from both rural/urban settings within Canada and Jamaica.
Shakerah is a member of the Appeal Panel Roster Committee.

Anish Panicker

RN

Anish Panicker is a Registered Nurse member of the College’s council. Anish brings experience in acute and long-term care from rural and urban perspectives within Canada and India.
Anish is a member of the Appeal Panel Roster Committee.

Martha Ross

RN(NP)

Martha Ross is a Registered Nurse member of the College’s Council. Martha brings front line experience from outpost, rural, as well as tertiary care settings.
Martha is a member of the Appeal Panel Roster Committee.

Cynthia Taylor

RN

Cynthia Taylor is a registered nurse member of the College’s Council. Cynthia brings experience in acute and long-term care as well as risk management and quality improvement knowledge from rural and urban perspectives.

Public Representatives

Irene Hamilton

Public Representative

Irene Hamilton is a public representative member of the College’s council. Irene is a lawyer with over 35 years experience in provincial government and experience as a board member and president of the Law Society of Manitoba, which governs the legal profession in the public interest. Irene is a member of the Governance and Appeal Panel Roster committees.

Cheryl Link

Public Representative

Cheryl is a Public Representative Member of the College’s Council. Cheryl brings experience in Non Profit Administration, Governance and Finance from a rural perspective.

Kenneth Molloy

Public Representative

Kenneth Molloy is a public representative member of the College’s Council. Kenneth brings experience from the regulatory and educational sectors from an urban perspective.

Lindsay Forest

Public Representative, Chair-elect*

Lindsay Forest is a public representative member of the College’s Council. Lindsay brings legal sector experience from both a rural and urban perspective. She received her B.A. through the University of Winnipeg, an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba, and LLM with the University of Edinburgh.
Lindsay is a member of the Appeal Panel Roster Committee.
