Council Members

The College is seeking two members of the public and one registrant, which includes nurse practitioners and registered nurses who hold registration with the College, to join Council for a three-year term, starting August 2026.

The Council is the College’s governing body, whose mandate is to govern the College and the registered
nursing profession in the public interest. Council members make all decisions within the context of the
College’s mandate to protect the public interest. The College’s Council is composed of 11 members: six
Registered Nurse members and five public representatives. The selection process for Council members is a
skills-based appointment process. Please read below for an overview of the role and a description of the
essential and desired qualifications to be considered for a position on the College’s Council.

Registrant Member – Complaints Investigation Committee 

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is seeking a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner to serve on its Complaints Investigation Committee. 

The Complaints Investigation Committee (CIC) at the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) is a mandatory, statutory body under The Regulated Health Professions Act that reviews and investigates written complaints against registered nurses (RNs). Comprised of RNs and public representatives, the CIC determines appropriate action, including dismissal, censure, or referral to the Inquiry Committee. 

Deadline to submit applications is April 17, 2026.

Registrant Member – Inquiry Committee

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is looking for Registered Nurses or Nurse Practitioners to serve on the College’s Inquiry Committee.

The Inquiry Committee is responsible for holding hearings and making disciplinary decisions about the conduct of investigated registrants referred by the Complaints Investigation Committee.

Deadline to submit applications is March 20, 2026.

Public Representative – Education Program Committee

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is looking for a Public Representative to serve on the College’s Education Program Committee.

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba has the mandate to develop, establish and maintain standards of academic achievement and qualification required for registration and to monitor compliance with and enforce those standards. The Education Program Committee makes recommendations for the Council’s consideration regarding matters pertaining to nursing education programs.
