A brief informational guide for newly registered RNs
Welcome to Registered Nursing in Manitoba

What does the College do?
The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is the regulatory body for all graduate nurses, registered nurses (RN), nurse practitioners (NP), and graduate nurse practitioners in Manitoba. The purpose of regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that applicants meet the requirements to practise as an RN in Manitoba.
Our commitment to you and to the public interest
We protect and serve the public alongside registrants. While the College sets the standards with input from RNs and NPs, it’s through your day-to-day work that you demonstrate the standards by delivering safe, competent, and ethical registered nursing care.
Available Supports
The College can provide a variety of supports to registrants:
- Quality Practice Consultants can provide answers to any of your questions related to registered nursing practice.

- The Registration department can help walk you through the renewal process, help with any future applications, and fulfill requests for verification of registration and similar documents.

Practice Resources
Our website has a wealth of information for registrants. Explore our resource library for more information.
Registration Renewal
Every year, each registrant of the College must renew their certificate of practice. The renewal process is completed online through your Alinity profile. Learn more on the renewal page.
Continuing Competency Program (CCP)
The CCP is a comprehensive program that helps you maintain and enhance your practice. By completing the annual requirements, you assure the public that you are committed to maintaining and improving your competence as RNs and NPs. Click here to learn more about the CCP.
Jurisprudence Learning Module
Each year the College releases a learning module for all registrants, covering a topic we believe is relevant and beneficial for all registrants to learn more about. You can learn more about the current year’s module on the jurisprudence learning module page.
Get Involved
There are a number of ways you can interact with the College and get more involved. You can apply to join the Council or a committee. The College also often invites registrants to help develop programs, review standards, and participate in surveys and focus groups. Your expertise helps shape the profession.
These opportunities are posted on our Careers and Volunteering page and on our Consultations page.
