Council Highlights – September 15, 2022

1. Council provided approval-in-principle for amendments to The College of Registered Nurses General Regulation related to applicants registered in good standing in another Canadian jurisdiction.

2. Council approved meeting dates for 2023, which have now been posted on the Council webpage.

3. Council approved the creation of a new Calls to Action committee to provide strategic guidance for Council and staff regarding the incorporation and implementation of Indigenous cultural safety.

4. Council reviewed and approved monitoring reports for the following policies:
a. EE-5 Asset Protection
b. EE-11 Use and Protection of Registrant Information
c. GP-24 Council Member Recruitment and Nominations

5. On the recommendation of the Governance Committee, Council approved updates to the following policies:
a. EE-11 Use and Protection of Registrant Information (Repealed)
b. EE-10 Public Image
c. GP-1 Council Commitment and Governing Approach
d. GP-24 Council Member Recruitment and Selection Policy

6. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee, Council approved an increase to the College’s salary commitments to reflect the results of the 2022 compensation market assessment.
