Council approved a College governance refresh, including a revised governance policy manual. During the December 2023 meeting, Council approved a recommendation to explore alternatives to the ‘Carver’ policy governance model, aiming to transition to a more efficient one.
Council approved revised versions of two practice directions:
i. Practice Direction: Interprofessional Collaborative Care
ii. Practice Direction: Practice Expectations for RN(AP)s
Council reviewed and approved the 2025 budget and approved a reduction to the Nurse Practitioner endorsement application fee for 2025.
Council provided approval in principle for amendments to the College by-laws and amendments to the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba General Regulation. The proposed changes will be shared for public consultation when ready.
Council has reviewed the new Code of Ethical Conduct, which will replace the current Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses. To create the new Code, the College participated in a working group with representatives from all Canadian nursing jurisdictions apart from British Columbia and Ontario. The Code of Ethical Conduct will come to Council for approval in the near future.
