Navigating PHIA Compliance and Ethical Use of Social Media in Nursing Practice is a new resource from the three nursing regulators (the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM), the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM), and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM)) addressing principles related to privacy, confidentiality, advocacy and responsible social media use.

Aligning nurses’ fundamental obligations to maintain privacy and confidentiality of personal health information, to meet expectations for ethical and professional practice, and potential for powerful and evidence-based advocacy on matters related to health care is more important than ever.
