Council
Make an Important Contribution to the Oversight of Nursing Regulation in Manitoba.
Seeking applications for Council Members
The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba exists to serve and protect the public interest through quality registered nursing regulation. As a regulator, we:
- Regulate registered nursing practice in Manitoba
- Support RNs (Registered Nurses) to provide safe, competent, and ethical care
- Set standards for education, registration, and practice
- Take action when the standards are not met
The College operates with oversight from a governing board (‘Council’). This means Council provides strategic direction and oversight to the College’s leadership as it works to protect the public, ensuring health care is accessed and received in a safe, ethical, and competent manner from registered nurses within our province.
Being a Council member is an extremely important role. Council members apply their skills and expertise, to set the long-term strategic direction and provide management oversight of the College in the regulation of the nursing profession.
The regulatory environment is complex as are the needs of Manitobans. Therefore, it is fundamentally important for the College to recruit diverse voices who can bring forward different perspectives, leveraging their solid knowledge base, expertise, and experiences.
Serving as a Council member of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is a stimulating and challenging way to make an important contribution to the oversight of nursing regulation in Manitoba. Council service is a rewarding opportunity.
