Continuing Competency Program (CCP)
About the Program
RNs maintain and enhance their competence through self-reflection, lifelong learning, and by integrating that learning into their practice. By completing the annual requirements of the program, RNs assure the public they are committed to maintaining and improving their competence as a registered nurse.
What do I need to complete?
As an RN, you will need to complete the following items by Dec. 1, 2021 in order to renew your certificate of practice for 2021.
1. Parts A and B of the CCP forms
Renewal will be open Oct. 1 to Dec. 1, 2021. Make sure you complete Parts A and B before you complete your online renewal application for 2022.
If you become registered OR are reinstated after Oct. 1, 2021 you do not need to complete these forms to renew your certificate or practice for 2022. However, you will need to complete the 2022 forms to renew your certificate of practice for 2023.

Keep your completed CCP forms for five years. If you are selected for the CCP review you will need to refer to your forms for the years requested.

Each year, RNs and RN(NP)s are randomly selected to complete the CCP review. If you are selected for the review, you are required to complete all CCP review requirements by Dec. 1, 2021. Click here for more information.
CCP Information Sessions
The Continuing Competency Program (CCP) promotes high standards of knowledge, skill and ethical practice. Registered nurses complete the CCP every year. The program is an opportunity for you to reflect on your nursing practice and lead your own learning. Your self-directed learning is documented every year in a self-development plan. Your self development plan also assures the public that you are committed to maintaining and improving your competence as a registered nurse.
We invite and encourage you to attend a CCP information session where you will learn more about the CCP process. You will also learn how to develop and write a self-development plan that meets College criteria. The following sessions are now open for registration.
September 24th 1300-1400hrs
October 8th 1300-1400hrs
November 5th 1300-1400hrs
To register, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once registered, a member from our Quality Practice team will be in contact with you to confirm details on how to enter the information session closer to the date of the session.
If you are unable to attend one of the information sessions but would like more information about CCP, please review CRNM resources on our website or contact a Quality Practice Advisor who will meet with you to review. We can also coordinate a virtual CCP presentation for larger groups if required.
